FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DENVER – March 10, 2025 – Today, Attorney General Phil Weiser’s campaign for Governor of Colorado announced that it has raised more than $1,517,010.66 from over 4,000 individual donors. Weiser announced his bid for Governor on Jan. 2, 2025.
The $1.5 million raised is in addition to a transfer of $157,000 from Weiser’s Attorney General campaign committee (the maximum allowable under Colorado law) – bringing the Weiser for Governor campaign’s fundraising total to $1,674,010.66. Weiser’s campaign does not accept contributions from corporate political action committees (PACs) or corporations.
“Our support continues to build every day, showing how much Coloradans value and recognize our resolve to take on big and important fights for all of us. They know I am in all parts of our state, working with them to defend the rule of law and our rights, make Colorado more affordable, improve public safety, protect our land, air, and water, and build a better future for our kids. Now more than ever we need leaders willing to stay on the front lines to protect us. That’s what I’ve done as AG and what I’ll continue to do as governor.”
The amount Weiser raised surpasses previous records for gubernatorial candidates. In just over two months of fundraising, Weiser broke Mike Johnston’s record for most funds raised (by a non-self funded candidate) in an off-year, exceeding Johnston’s $1.513M raised during the entirety of 2017 as a candidate.
Weiser Campaign Co-Chair and former Congressman Ed Perlmutter shared his enthusiasm about the very positive response thus far to the campaign:
“Phil Weiser is a hard worker and dedicated fighter for the Coloradans. He shows up all across Colorado, listens to the people, develops creative solutions, and gets results. That’s why so many people are responding to his campaign and want to see him as our next Governor.”
