Reports to: Finance Director 

Location: Colorado (extensive travel in state) 

Employment Type: Full time for duration of campaign

Role Summary 

Our Finance Associate is an integral part of a highly collaborative team whose role is to  successfully implement the campaign’s aggressive fundraising goals. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a political campaign, by building and staffing fundraising events, identifying new donors through research, creating thoughtful candidate call time approaches, and by meticulously tracking donors, donations, and donor follow-up. This role requires a detail oriented agile thinker, meticulous organizer, strong communicator, and passionate worker committed to the candidate and Colorado.  

Role Responsibilities and Deliverables 

  • Events: Coordinate all logistics regarding fundraising events, from pre-planning, to on site event management, through post event follow-up. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Creating fundraising event invitations 
    • Coordinating volunteer event managers engagement 
    • Identifying additional prospective attendees beyond host invites (e.g., local party members, labor groups, influencers, etc.) 
    • Managing invite list, including event follow-ups 
    • Creating “candidate call list” for personal invitations to events 
    • Building a strong, respectful, and responsive relationship with each event host, ensuring their questions and needs are met in a timely manner.  
    • Detailed understanding of host location (capacity, guest flow, kitchen/food requirements, etc.) 
    • Preparing candidate and team briefing for each fundraising event 
    • Event staffing, including guest check-in, and donation collection at events 
    • Attendee thank you notes 
    • No-show follow-ups for potential donation 
    • Producing an event summary for every event, including event outline, guest list and resulting donations 
  • Donor Management: Organize and execute all donor follow up, including tracking of donor contacts and commitments through delivery of timely thank you notes/calls.
  • Data Administration: Track and manage all incoming donations from various  fundraising disciplines, including events, call time, pledges, direct mail, digital programs  (emails and texts), and social media outreach, and ensure the compliance team has the information they need for flawless compliance. 
  • Research: Complete extensive donor research for the purpose of soliciting new donors,  while also analyzing existing and past donors to determine appropriate asks. 
  • Call Time: Implement designated call time programs identified by the campaign,  including but not limited to:
    • Prospecting new donors, creating and updating call sheets, organizing call time systems and existing donor databases. 
    • Staffing candidate during call time, logging activity and managing follow up
    • Creating scripts and templates for follow up email and texts 
    • Tracking progress of the call time program and producing regular reports for Finance Director

Experience and Skills: 

  • Preferred 1 year of experience in political fundraising or working on a campaign. Colorado experience a plus. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and  maintain relationships with team members and donors. 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail, a  high level of accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks. 
  • Proficiency with G-Suite and Microsoft Office. 
  • Quick learner with new software applications & tools (e.g.,NGP-VAN and CRM).
