FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denver, CO – OCT 30, 2025 – Attorney General and candidate for Colorado governor Phil Weiser today laid out his vision for building a stronger, more inclusive economy rooted in real opportunity for all Coloradans.

His six-part Opportunity agenda focuses on workforce development, rural investment, youth mental health, education, and the creation of a new ColoradoCorps service program to help young people build careers while serving their communities.

“Opportunity should never depend on your zip code, your income, or who you know,” said Weiser. “From our farms and small towns to our classrooms and city centers, we need bold action to ensure every Coloradan can build a good life. That’s what this agenda is about—good paying jobs, strong schools, healthier communities, and a future our kids can believe in.”

REINVIGORATING COLORADO’S ECONOMY Weiser will work to spark innovation, grow clean energy jobs, and boost small business growth in every corner of the state. He’s committed to making Colorado the best place to start and grow a business—with affordable housing, strong infrastructure, and a workforce ready to meet the challenges of the future.

GOOD JOBS FOR ALL COLORADANS To close the skills gap and open doors to high-quality employment, Weiser will invest in community colleges, apprenticeships, and career training programs that meet local needs. His plan includes streamlining job training across agencies and expanding access to career pathways for veterans, young adults, and rural workers.

SUPPORTING OUR AGRICULTURAL, FARMING, AND RANCHING COMMUNITIES Weiser’s rural development strategy will support family farmers and ranchers, improve rural infrastructure, and strengthen local economies. He’ll champion broadband expansion, water security, and farm-to-market programs that help agricultural communities thrive in a changing economy.

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION FOR OUR KIDS’ FUTURE Weiser believes a world-class public education system is the foundation of opportunity. He’ll fight for better teacher pay, safer schools, and expanded access to early childhood education—especially in underserved communities.

SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH AND TACKLING THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS As youth mental health reaches crisis levels, Weiser will lead a statewide response focused on developing early intervention, building a robust mentoring program, providing school-based support systems, and expanding access to care. He’ll invest in growing Colorado’s behavioral health workforce and ensuring young people can get help immediately.

BUILDING COLORADO’S NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS Weiser’s proposal for ColoradoCorps—a statewide service and career-building program—will give young people the chance to earn a paycheck, gain experience, and give back to their communities in sectors like education, conservation, and public health.

“Colorado’s future depends on bold leadership that connects innovation with inclusion,” said Zaneta Kelsey, co-founder & CEO of Access Mode, which is a nonprofit entrepreneurial support organization that hosts a flagship accelerator program that supports tech‑enabled startups founded by overlooked and underserved entrepreneurs. “Phil Weiser’s candidacy does exactly that — empowering entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them, expanding opportunities, and making sure every Coloradan can take part in the state’s growth.”

“Long before he ran for office, Phil was already doing the work to strengthen Colorado’s economy by investing in entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said Greg Greenwood, former head of Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network, which was founded with the help of AG Weiser to support entrepreneurship and economic development in targeted regions by connecting high-growth entrepreneurs with experienced mentors, advisors, and resources. “Phil’s opportunity platform reflects that same deep belief: that innovation, inclusion, and long-term growth go hand in hand.”

“We are working to build a future in Colorado where everyone gets a shot—not just to survive, but to thrive,” Weiser said. “We’re going to grow the middle class, support our kids, and invest in every community, from Sterling to Alamosa to Aurora. That’s the future I’m fighting for and have long championed, including by co-chairing Governor Ritter’s Innovation Council and co-founding Startup Colorado.”

Earlier this month, Weiser released a summary of his comprehensive vision for Colorado’s future in The Colorado Blueprint, available at the campaign’s website at philforcolorado.com/the-colorado-blueprint. These chapters are among several the campaign is releasing over the coming weeks to provide a detailed vision for Colorado’s future, providing an opportunity for feedback and engagement as we work to build a better future.

Weiser launched his campaign in January 2025. Since then, he has earned endorsements from over 160 Colorado current and former elected officials, including Colorado trailblazers former Denver Mayor Federico Peña and former Governor Roy Romer, and from national elected leaders like Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA), Governor Maura Healey (D-MA), Governor Josh Stein (D-NC), and Governor Bob Ferguson (D-WA).
