Denver, CO – September 2, 2025 – In the wake of the Trump administration and Congress’s decision to eliminate federal funding for public radio, putting stations like KGNU and others across Colorado at risk, Attorney General and Democratic candidate for governor Phil Weiser is reaffirming his commitment to community radio and local journalism. 

“Community radio connects neighbors, informs the public, and gives voice to local stories that too often go underreported,” said Weiser. “I’d be grateful for the opportunity to join these conversations and be part of the dialogue that community radio makes possible every day.”

Throughout his career, Weiser has demonstrated consistent dedication to engaging in real conversations, meeting people where they are across the state, and listening to Coloradans’ perspectives on the issues affecting their lives.
