DENVER, CO – Today, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser’s people-powered campaign for governor announced that it has raised $6 million, which includes nearly $1.4 million for the first reporting period through April 29 of 2026, according to the latest campaign finance report. In achieving this milestone, Weiser officially broke the record for most money raised by a non-self-funding state office candidate in Colorado history. And even after launching a significant TV ad buy, the campaign has nearly $2.7 million cash on hand. 

“Our campaign is powered by the people of Colorado – not out-of-state billionaires, big corporations, or dark money,” Phil Weiser said. “The choice in this race is clear: Our campaign is fueled by unprecedented grassroots support, and Michael Bennet is running an establishment, Washington, D.C., campaign – with the backing of a Super PAC flush with dark money and out-of-state billionaires’ checks. After looking at the campaigns, Coloradans should ask: Which candidate can you trust to always show up and fight for you, not special out-of-state interests, as governor?”

The historic fundraising numbers are the latest showing strong momentum for Weiser, including after: 

• the launch of “Fearless,” the first and only TV ad paid for by a campaign – not a Super PAC – for governor; 
• Weiser’s overwhelming victory at the Colorado Democratic Party’s State Assembly nomination in March, where he earned the support of 90% of party delegates and secured the top line on the Democratic primary ballot for governor ahead of the June 30 primary; and
• Topping 235 endorsements from current and former state and local elected leaders, earning support from more Colorado elected officials in every category – except members of Congress – than Bennet.
