Every kid should be supported to build a successful future. As governor, I will:
- Address the harms of social media by:
- Getting kids off their phones, including getting them outside so they can learn about what our public spaces have to offer, from health benefits to career opportunities.
- Signing legislation holding social media companies accountable for the harms they cause kids.
- Ensure every kid has at least one mentor and the support they need by:
- Creating a statewide mentorship program, called HOPE.
- Increasing access to in school mental health professionals and services, including in school screenings.
- Expanding mental health support through promotion of telehealth and programs like I Matter.
- Create opportunities in community service and beyond to build skills and hope for their future by:
- Establishing ColoradoCorps, a public service program with the chance to learn skills and expand their worlds – in firefighting, teaching and beyond, and
- Investing in their education, including career and technical training.
