Phil Weiser Delivers Commanding Performance in First Televised General Election Debate – While Republican Victor Marx Refuses to Show Up

Coloradans Should Ask: If Victor Marx Won’t Show Up and Debate Opponents, Can We Trust Him to Lead?

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – In the first televised general election debate in Colorado Springs tonight, Colorado Attorney General and Democratic nominee for governor Phil Weiser emerged as the only choice for voters who will provide serious, bold leadership as governor – while Victor Marx, Phil’s Republican opponent, refused to show up.

During the debate – hosted by KOAA News5, El Pomar, Colorado Politics, and the Colorado Springs Gazette – Phil laid out his bold vision to build 40,000 affordable starter homes, make it easier and quicker to start a business, and launch ColoradoCorps to call young people to service. Phil also called out Marx’s refusal to show up and debate – in Marx’s hometown – and asked Coloradans: If Marx will not face tough questions and meet voters where they are, how can we trust him to lead our state?
