DENVER, CO – Today, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser’s people-powered campaign for governor announced that it has now established the record for the most money raised by a non-self-funding candidate for state office in Colorado history. Weiser has raised nearly $5.6 million, which includes $950,000 in the first quarter of 2026 (Jan. 1 to March. 31), and has officially eclipsed former Gov. John Hickenlooper’s 2014 fundraising record of $5.4 million, which included both the primary and general elections.

“We are building a historic people-powered movement, and our latest fundraising numbers make clear that we have the vision, momentum, and resources to win,” Phil Weiser said. “The choice in the governor’s race is crystal clear: Michael Bennet is the candidate of Washington, and I’m the candidate of Colorado. I’m not backed by out-of-state billionaires – I’m powered by the people of Colorado, and as governor, I’ll show up and fight for all Coloradans each and every day.”

The historic fundraising numbers come after Weiser won the Colorado Democratic Party’s State Assembly nomination last week, earning the support of 90% of party delegates and securing the top line on the Democratic primary ballot for governor ahead of the June 30 primary. They also come after Weiser earned the endorsements of nine political organizations in March, including Indivisible Colorado, the Greater Metropolitan Denver Ministerial Alliance, COLOR Action Fund, and Colorado Ceasefire PAC.

Highlights from Weiser’s total fundraising numbers to date include:

  • $5.58 million raised
  • 90% of donations are from Colorado residents
  • 32,000+ total donations

Since U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s entry into the race, support for Weiser has surged, growing from 89 endorsements in March 2025 to more than 225 today. With over 200 current and former state and local elected officials across Colorado endorsing Weiser, he has more endorsements from current governors and current and former state legislators, mayors, city and town council members, school board members, county commissioners, and law enforcement officials than Bennet. The only category of elected officials where Bennet has more endorsements than Weiser is members of Congress.
