FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Denver, CO – January 3, 2025 – Today, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser’s campaign for Governor of Colorado announced a fundraising total of $157,657 in the first full day after launching.
The amount raised by the Weiser for Governor campaign is the largest raised by a Colorado gubernatorial campaign on the day of its launch in recent memory. The total was raised from 1,051 individual donors. Weiser’s campaign does not accept contributions from corporate political action committees (PACs).
The first-day contributions received by Phil Weiser for Governor surpasses the high-water marks in the 2022 and 2018 gubernatorial campaigns’ first day fundraising—for both total raised ($49,217.93 in a 2018 campaign) and total contributions (253 contributions in a 2018 campaign).
The campaign also announced its leadership and early endorsers, led by Honorary Campaign Chair, Governor Roy Romer. Governor Romer endorsed Phil’s campaign saying: “I am impressed by how hard Phil has worked at his job of Attorney General. He understands how critical it is to know our state, to meet people where they live, and get to know how they see the world. He listens and gets results. That is what will make him a great Governor, and I’m proud to support him.”
